Wylie ISD and Amazing Grace Food Pantry has a strong partnership: from weekend Food4Kids bags to Volunteering at the pantry.

During the school year, we coordinate with Wylie school counselors and deliver Food4Kids bags each Thursday for the counselor to distribute (discreetly) to students on the free lunch program. These include healthy snacks and food to help the kiddos no go hungry over the weekend.

On summer break months, we distribute these Food4Kids bags to the parents as they come for their groceries at the pantry.

We encourage students to volunteer at Amazing Grace Food Pantry and have had the pleasure to work alongside many student groups such as Wylie High School Basketball Team, Cheer Teams, Leo Club members, Boy & Girl Scouts as a team building activity. Individual students from Elementary to College volunteer with friends and family to help those in need around us. The Food Insecure families in our own zip code is overwhelming.  We’re grateful for all the volunteers to help meet the need to Fight Hunger Together.

Did You Know?

Texas requires students to do community service / volunteer before graduation.  General guidelines for community service are: A total of 100 hours must be completed and approved by April 1st of your graduating year.  Schedule your volunteer hours now if you’re graduating in 2024!

Amazing Grace Food Pantry is exclusively a volunteer organization, relying upon the talent and generosity of community members to procure, sort and distribute over 60 TONS of food every month to area families. This monumental undertaking is only possible due to the altruism and support received each and every week from people just like you.

  • Do you have some free time on your hands?
  • Do you enjoy helping those in need?
  • Do you want to give back in some way that really changes the quality of life for someone?

We also welcome volunteer groups! If your church, youth or corporate group would like to schedule a day to volunteer as a team building exercise, or to regularly adopt group-size tasks (e.g. yard work, improvements, cleanup, etc.), we’d love to hear from you! Call (972) 292-7241 to leave a voicemail message or use use the contact form on our Volunteer page.

No time to volunteer? That’s okay, too! Visit our Donation page to arrange a monthly donation. No amount is too small!

I started coming to Amazing Grace Food Pantry in 2016. My wife and I are retired and made ends meet ok until my 35 year old son had a near fatal car accident that left him mentally and physically handicapped. We took him into our home along with his two teenage kids. Our Social Security income isn’t enough to sustain a family of 5 with special needs. Amazing Grace Food Pantry provides nutritious food to last the week. I’m able to come every week for fresh produce and groceries that I couldn’t otherwise afford. Everyone here is hospitable and treats everyone with dignity and respect.
